A sensational family show, a beloved musical story

It's hard to keep everyone's spirits high, and we want to give some sweetness to our kids (and to ourselves). Going to a live musical is truly special, but how do folks feel about it in these times? We asked a number of people if we should do a musical like this now, and they said "Yes, please do! We need it."

So, after a lot of thought and consideration, we have chosen to perform the sweetest of musicals, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! This is the live stage version based on the beloved movie that starred Gene Wilder. It mixes favorite songs such as "Candy Man," "Pure Imagination," and "I've Got a Golden Ticket," with beautiful and exciting new songs from the Broadway version.

It's because of the young people we're doing this, but not exclusively. There is so much to love about this show for anyone who grew up with the candy man, innocent Charlie, doddering Grandpa Joe, those challenging kids and their enabling parents, and the green and orange Oompa Loompas.

• So let Charlie and Willy Wonka bring sweet dreams back into our lives.
• Let Veruca, Violet, Mike and Augustus show us a thing or two about parenting.
• And let the excitement of opening those chocolate bars to see what might just be inside sweep you away to a world of candy, imagination, hope and dreams.
